You're not wrong there. The fucking thug later admitted he had contracted the killing for which he was cleared by a jury.

I see he is still breathing at the age of 86.

I never knew she dated Reggie Kray, I did know about another gangster she was with, can't think of his name though? Regardless she was a fine actor

Re: Barbara Windsor has got her baps out for the last time
Thanks all and sympathies to those who are going through the same thing. In many ways we were lucky because mum got a physical illness at home, ended up in hospital and fortunately my ex worked in the NHS and knew a consultant so capacity was taken into consideration so we could get her into care.

Like Scott, Barbara Windsor's husband he managed to get her into care, but many are at home, in many cases alone and it is a long, difficult, hurtful process to prove a lack of capacity because many sufferers insist that they are fine and until proven otherwise they can live as they wish even if they can't feed, wash or care for themselves.

I would advise everyone who has older parents, or indeed even themselves for their own children's benefit in the future to set up Powers of Attorney because it is difficult enough with it let alone what it must be like without one.

Of the regular Carry On team just Jim dale left, I think.

Plus, Angela Douglas was in four and she's still with us.

Hardly surprising most of them went early. They all liked a snifter.

Just starting to go through exactly the same thing with my mum, she was diagnosed over the summer.
Got to the age of 81 without any other illnesses or problems.

She says that she'd rather take any other disease than this one.

RIP Babs

Sorry to hear about your mum.Zico.

I looked after a lovely lady last week for the first time and that was how she was presenting, just crying and upset and she kept holding my hand and cuddling me. Made me want to cry bless her. Felt awful for her hubby. He was lovely, seeing his mrs go through this must be torture.

My mum has a mix of Vascular and Alzheimer's although I have no idea how they work that out! She is on medication that they say can help the Alzheimer's a bit but not the vascular. Her memory improved a tad but it has the downside where recently she has been continuously sobbing because she knows she has dementia and her memory is going but cannot understand it all. Almost better getting to the next stage when she won't know anything. If she forgets who I am but is more content and not scared I'll take that.

Mixed dementia must be fairly newly discovered, wasn't trained in awareness of this. Bloody hell how cruel would it be to develop this.type.

I met her briefly back in the 90s and that's exactly how I found her.

Sir Alf Alzheimers is one of the conditions under the umbrella of the term dementia. Someone would be very unlucky to have more than one type but if that did happen it would be very traumatic. My dad had vascular dementia. Was awful to say hello and see someone you love look right through you and not know who you are.

She was famous for starring in crass (for the time) comedy films and used to whip her bra off.

Unlike yourself, she had a sense of humour and didn't take herself too seriously.

Re: Barbara Windsor has got her baps out for the last time
I lost my Grandad to this horrible cunt of a disease last year, he was one of the faces in the east end at the time and knew her very well, he took her out on a few dates.

As others have mentioned it is so sad seeing someone literally slip away in front of your eyes. The body is still functioning but all memories gone, not even being able to string a sentence together. Dementia is one of those where family members grieve twice, one whilst they have it and two once they have passed on.

Like her or loathe her. No one should ever have to go through that, it must be a very lonely and scary place, looking at your own loved ones and thinking who the fuck are they.
Babs was a real national treasure in my eyes and may she rest in peace. This year has been fucking horrible.
